About the John Greep Family
Greetings
In hopes of sharing a bit about our little family, we've prepared this page with an emphasis on family values and activities. Please visit us often as we're always adding more pictures of our nuclear family: Mom, Dad, and 4 kids living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
We would love to hear from you so please leave a comment or sign our guestbooks.
Faith
We are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We were married in 1991 at the Idaho Falls Temple, Idaho. Our marriage is not just for life; we have been sealed to each other for eternity.
From July 1988 to July 1990, I served as a missionary for the Church in the Mississippi Jackson Mission.
Please read the summary of our beliefs.
Interests
We like Bicycling with the Elbow Valley Cycle Club (EVCC). Both of us have received Canadian Cycling Association CANBIKE II certification. When we can make time, we instruct Skills I cycling safety and Kids CanBike Rodeos.
I also commute by bicycle regularly to work. The round-trip distance is 20 kilometers or just over 12 miles. For my own interest, I maintain a log with my monthly distances in kilometers since 1997.
We love to cook different and new dishes(See pages about cooking and food). Our favorite is pizza. We also bake our own bread with fresh ground wheat. I've started our recipe page finally and it's starting to grow. I'm learning how to cook without wheat. That's been a challenge. I'll be focussing on posting some links to wheat-free recipes.
Another family favorite is camping. Alberta has a lot of great outdoors to enjoy. When we're not cycling, we love cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Here are some of my outdoor adventures:
- In the summer of 1999, I went on a 5 day canoe trip down the Old Man River.
- In July of 2000, myself and 3 Venturer's travelled self-supported to Drumheller.
We called it the Bicycle Tour to Hell-er
